END OF THE DAY

A POEM
BY MY NIECE,
SARAH
12

The morning he rose to the shining sun
His life in this world had just begun

His family his siblings were not there
He looked and searched, they weren't anywhere

He ran outside and looked around
No one was there, not one sound

He ran to his neighbors to see if they were home
It was then he realized he was all-alone

The morning was still and silent with only him
What will he do, where will he begin

He kept on looking till then he found
A heart shaped key lying on the ground

Confused and worried he ran inside
He started to cry and went to hide

Then he went in his pocket and picked up the key
It was then he realized and started to see

This key was to let all the people back in
Yet if he did there would still be evil and sin

He could restart the world and change it around
So that evil and worries were no where to be found

If he let them back in, it will be back the same
And the evilness and sin will be his to blame

The only way to make the world better
Would be to die and stay in heaven forever

Then the lord would have to remake the earth
And the boy would see all that's its worth

So he thought for a while and then made up his mind
As he sacrificed his life and left the key behind
